Notice This
Outsource Our Identity: Some of the choices you’ve made lately weren’t really yours. Not because you’re weak or unsure — but because it’s almost impossible to hear yourself in a world that’s constantly telling you who to be.
You scroll long enough, and suddenly you want what everyone else wants. Compare long enough and suddenly your life feels “behind.” Listen to enough opinions and suddenly your own voice feels too small to matter.
Without realizing it, you start outsourcing your identity to trends, expectations, and the people around you.
Consider This
Most people aren’t lost — they’re just overwhelmed by noise. When you’re always watching what others are doing, you forget to ask what you actually want.
Identity doesn’t disappear. It just gets buried under:
- what’s popular
- what looks successful
- what earns approval
- what everyone else seems to be doing
But the real you is quiet. And you can’t hear quiet things when you’re always looking outward.
Try This
Open your journal and write down three decisions you’ve made recently. Then ask yourself:
“If no one could see this choice, would I still want it?”
That one question pulls you back to your own voice — the one you’ve been missing.
A Gentle Reminder
You don’t find yourself by following the crowd. You find yourself by listening inward, slowly, honestly, and without performance.
Your identity isn’t lost. It’s just waiting for you to stop looking everywhere else.
